Local Animal Rescue Organization Resources:

• Cascades Raptor Center http://www.eraptors.org/  is a nature center and wildlife hospital that rehabilitates sick, injured or orphaned birds of prey.

• Lane County Animal Services (LCAS)  www.lanecounty.org/animals  is the government agency which provides animal control and abuse/neglect investigation within Lane County.  

• Cat Rescue & Adoption Network (CRAN) https://catrescues.org/ Initially called West Coast Dog and Cat Rescue in 2006, CRAN began as a program to find homes for cats & dogs from Lane County Animal Regulation Authority in Oregon using the PetSmart retail chain stores as an off-site adoption center. In August of 2017, after a large re-branding effort, West Coast Dog and Cat Rescue has become Cat Rescue & Adoption Network.

• Luvable Dog Rescue  http://www.luvabledogrescue.org/  Luvable Dog Rescue (formerly known as Luv-A-Bull & Luv-A-Little Dog Rescue and Sanctuary) is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) dog rescue organization located in Eugene, Oregon dedicated to rehoming small breed dogs and pit bulls who were once on death row.

• No Kill Advocacy Center http://www.nokilladvocacycenter.org/ is the nation’s first organization dedicated solely to the promotion of a No Kill nation.  It is the only national animal welfare agency that is staffed by people who have actually worked in and created a No Kill community.  

• Pro-Bone-O  http:// www.proboneo.org  works to improve the health and well-being of pets of the homeless, to stop the spread of infectious diseases and parasites in the community and to prevent unwanted litters by educating owners and offering either financial assistance or services for spay/neuter. 

• Oregon Humane Society  www.oregonhumane.org  Oregon's largest humane society, located in Portland, which frequently accepts dogs, and occasionally cats, transferred from shelters and rescue groups throughout the North West who need help placing them in new homes.
